Introducing 1000 Books by Kindergarten!

Did you know that if you read one book a day to your child for three years, you would have read over 1,000 books! Helping your child develop pre-reading skills are the first steps to becoming a successful reader. Your goal over the pre-school years should be to help your child acquire language and the meaning of the words they use. A great tool for this is reading together. Use our web app to help you keep track of the books you've read to your child and/or as a source for age-appropriate books recommended by our children's librarians. Click on the image to learn more.

Starting Monday, February 24 you can join us for this crazy Winter Reading Club. During the month of March, if you are a pre-reader then your goal will be 10 books read with your grownup. If you are a new reader, 5 books will be your goal. For those who are confident readers, 2 books on your reading level will be required.

When you reach your goal you will receive your ticket to our "Suess-tastic" magic show featuring the "Magic of Amore" on Friday, March 28 at 5 p.m.
