Looking for a pre-school for your child?

This Saturday, January 4th, we are hosting our Annual Pre-School Fair. Join us for an opportunity to explore 15 of the local pre-schools.  The fair is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in our Community Room.

Winter Battle of the Books!

There's still time to join our annual winter battle of the books program for students in Grades 5-8 starting Friday, January 3rd from 6-7:00 p.m. Friends, great books, and refreshments - what better way to spend Friday nights in January? Register online and then pick up a set of books at either the Children's Department or Adult Reference Desk.

Enter Our Snowman Raffle!

What better way to cuddle up with your favorite book this winter than with a soft blanket, a cup of hot cocoa, and the warmest snowman in town!  

Come to our Children's Reference Desk and take your best guess as to how many marshmallows are in the jar and you could win this snowman, blanket, and hot cocoa mix!  The closest estimate wins!  The winner will be announced on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2 p.m.

It's Fire Prevention Week!

October 6th-12th is Fire Prevention Week.  Come check out our display of books about firefighters, fire engines, and fire safety.

We also recommend checking out the Sparky.org website.  This year their focus is on fire safety in the kitchen.  There's lots of information and activities for kids.  There's also free mobile apps.
